We don't have this yet (well, M is for now an only child). But, in one group of friends, M is the second girl, and there are 6 boys, so I'm expecting to deal with the opposite where the girls will feel left out, or as Sylwia suggested, will insert themselves as princesses into the boy games. And maybe I'm being overly sensitive, but I can already sense that the other girl (4yo) is finding M's comparative littleness and cuteness is stepping on her dainty princess toes. I'm really interested to see how this dynamic is going to evolve in the group over time.

We have the opposite dynamic at our house, 3 boys and 1 girl, but boys aren't into clubs as much as girls, so Grace doesn't get left out. The boys usually tell her she can be the princess in the game. One always needs a dainty princess even when playing knights or robbers or star wars...

welcome to my world. I live in a world where Lucy feels she is in CHARGE ALL THE TIME and Max is supposed to always acquiesce to her plans. Max on the other hand has learned that if he yells REALLY, REALLY loud Lucy will submit because that is HIS super power. The tantrum throwing followed by yelling, biting and throwing are all his communication skills.
