Cute little rascal! Whenever I suggest M wears a dress, she only wants to wear one of her good/Sunday/church dresses (all two of them). Not the other fun little el cheapo sundresses that can get paint/pen/goodness knows what all over them. So over here, we’re working on good vs everyday clothes, luckily not summer vs freeze your toes off shoes!

November first at our house is considered "Flip Flop Confiscation Day." All flip flops are confiscated by me and (after being washed) are put away until mid-March. Just wait until they get older! My daughter – who is beautiful and has a closet full of “girl” clothes appropriate for a 12 year old 7th grader – wears her BROTHER’S hand-me-down t-shirts and boxer shorts (he wore them as underwear, she wears them as shorts) as often as she can. Her current favorite top is a green long sleeved t-shirt that says “This IS my clean shirt.”

Well, you can’t argue with a little kid’s fashion sense. Really, we must seem so boring to them, what with our matching clothes and socks and being warm.
Our couch holds many treasures too. Such as hair clips, pieces to toys, and my husband’s pedometer for his work walking program. Sometimes the remote and phone go diving too.

I went sofa diving this weekend and found a whale, a gorilla, and a remote control. It is amazing what you can find in the innards of a couch!

Thanks Jane. I love the picture. I agree — let kids dress themselves. If they look ridiculous, that’s okay. They’re kids. (I know that wasn’t exactly your point when you wrote “Compromise,” but still, it’s my philosophy.)
