Leslie in Manhattan gave us her daughter’s Italian crib and a box of books eight years ago, when I was pregnant with Sally. Spot now sleeps in that crib and reads Jungle Animals. I used to have a hard time looking at pictures of snakes in childrens books like Time For Bed. It bothered me if my finger touched the picture of the snake, and sometimes I would skip that page. Now I can look at them without shuddering, and I encourage the girls to pet the snakes those crazy people wear around their necks at places like the zoo.

What a cute pic!! My sister has such a fear of snakes, she refuses to go in the reptile house at the zoo. She is even afraid of worms!
