My little Tatertot is a freckle face — just like his dad. There’s something about a kid with freckles…Rockwellian.

I’ve got my three in swim lessons (me with the youngest) all at the same time, same pool.

I’m the crazy mom in the pool, singing with my toddler, then hollering at my five year old (NO! Do NOT jump in until the teacher tells you to!) and praising my almost seven-year-old (who is so deeply entrenched in the positive feedback loop that I’m starting to see visions of Tracy Flick in her future).

I hope your swim lessons are a bit easier!

Jane, you should know that much of Dick’s character was formed in swimming classes, swim clubs, and swim meets. For one thing, he learned to put his head down and hold his breath for a long time, and you’ve no doubt noticed how hard it is to get a good argument going when one puts his head down and holds his breath. I may very well still have some of his many blue ribbons from that era.

Jan Mary — I actually woke up in the middle of the night, and my first thought was, Oh no, I forgot to write that Spot is now my favorite because she’s the baby. But, as you say, that’s obvious, they’re ALL my favorite.

Also, stopping at three sounds good to me too, at least for now!!

I too have 3 kids, and found it hard to believe how I could share the love I felt for my first child, when the second one was born – how could I possibly fit some more love in my heart? Of course I now know how you don’t have to love one less to make room for more, but your heart just swells to fit all that love in! But I am stopping at 3, just in case my heart bursts
