Sorry to intrude. I have been looking for saag recipes and this sounds great. A note on the paneer, if you don't want to make it, I hear that tofu has the same texture and similar taste when blended up for a minute. So if you are trying to go vegetarian, it's a great way to add protein to the dish.

Brittneys last blog post..<a href="http://ihatemealplanning.blogspot.com/2008/07/naan.html" rel="nofollow">Naan</a>

[...] And if you need even more protein, you can add cheese (or bacon or sausage. Since I’m not vegetarian, in case you couldn’t tell). These are also delicious with homemade flour tortillas. [...]

This sounds so yummy! And can I say, I'm so impressed that your hubby (I assume that is who "Dick" is above?) reads AND comments on your blog. I could probably count on one hand the number of times The Boss has read mine without serious prompting. I think he's just relieved that I have somewhere to put my 24,000 words a day :)

Left another comment on the "Am I The Only One" post. Great stuff you write here and I'll be back for sure.

Be careful about giving too much of the spinach stuff to the baby -- I had to change 4 toxic diapers in about 2 hours once her digestion system kicked in.

Sarah -- Thanks for the ideas! We're a bit north of Provo, but I think we'd have to go out of state for TJ. I did find frozen naan at an Indian grocery store, but it was expensive and disappointing.

I've never made paneer (closest I've come to that is cottage cheese). But I love lamb! I'll have to try that with my "soup."

Nancy -- Funny. I was going to say that the biggest reason to make your own play dough is because I hate how Play-Doh (by Hasbro) smells. I do like the smell of baby oil, though, so that might be nice. The salt is a big enough eating deterrent (so far).

This sounds VERY yummy--the food, that is, not the play dough! ;)

My hubs and I are trying to eat less meat, so this is perfect for us.

If you use baby oil or other "flavored" mineral oils like Skin-So-Soft for the oil in the play dough, it will even smell like the commercial stuff. And if you add a little powdered alum, it will discourage little ones from eating it (if that's a problem).

Hey, I'm glad you liked my recipe! I love Bombay House, and it seems like I'm always comparing my cooking to theirs. I've made naan, but it wasn't fantastic. I did find some frozen naan at Trader Joe's, but if you're in Provo, you'd have to drive an awful long way to find a TJ's.

I've never pureed the soup. It seems like if you left out some of the broth and added some chicken/lamb/paneer, you could have something pretty close to the saag dish at BH. Mmm. Have you ever tried to make paneer? All you need is some milk, lemon juice, and a little advance notice.
