Well – even perfect people like you have a downfall somewhere. Although if you brag too much more about your ping pong skills I won’t even have a little mercy on you when I show you how it’s really done. So glad that you’re getting this taken care of finally and that you’re putting it off a month for important things! I remember when your shoulder went out that one time at the mall and the paramedics came and I screamed at that guy to leave us alone. Then after I helped you get it back in we still went shopping. Good times.

Do you have a date set for your surgery? Professional ping pong aside, I really hope it fixes you…your shoulder I mean. Wouldn’t it be nice if surgery could fix everything, like my tendency to keep a messy house, my poor fashion sense, or my low bank account? Or how nice would it be if surgery could fix my flabby baby stomach and cubby thighs…oh, wait, surgery can fix that. Maybe when my bank account gets some heavy duty surgery.

Good luck with your surgery. My advice is to milk it for all it is worth, meaning make sure that Dick makes all the meals and does all the dishes since you won’t be able to use your arm. How long will you be incapacitated? You will probably also need a top notch sports physical therapist so that your down time with regards to ping pong can be kept to a minimum. I hope the surgery won’t be bad enough to make you sit out the entire season, because you never know when those scouts for the professional teams might be stopping by.

I’m really glad you’re getting the surgery. What can I do to help? Are you going to leave Sally with a friend up there so she can get to school and have the evenings and mornings with Dick?
