Those pudgy cheeks locked around the straw are terrific–and I never thought I’d hear the phrase “What is a Twinkie?” Makes me wonder if my own kids know what they are!

I loved this post – cute pictures, good recipes, funny stories – what else can your readers ask for? I can’t wait to try the shake recipe – although I wish you were here to throw one together for me during my convalescence. It would be much better than the Sam’s Club hot dogs, which are some of the only ones I’ll eat. You and your shakes and your running are an inspiration to me though. Soon I’ll be as strong and svelte as you! And then you’ll get pregnant and I’ll look better! Maybe.

Before the movie Shrek, would this shake hold any appeal for a small child? Makes one wonder. Hooray for Shrek, so that all children everywhere can like “gross”-looking shakes. (I bet it is the tastiest out there, though, don’t get me wrong…I love spinach)

Melinda–i think the churros at costco are great, but it’s not like i have super-high expectations of “fair food.” they do have too much sugar on the outside, making for a messy eat, but they’re hot and fresh. probably not as good as those in spain, i’m guessing.

Marie–just keep in the mind #2 when making shrek shakes. Susan had some serious problems, which were not good for our shaky hold on potty training.

I’ve always thought Susan and Jessamine look a lot alike. They have the exact same hair and expressions.

The Shrek shake sounds good. I used to make smoothies a lot, have been thinking about getting back into it.

I loooove the hot dog stand at Sam’s. Where else can you feed an entire family for $6? And they have the BEST ice.

How are the churros at Costco? On our way back form Greece we had a layover in Madrid and what did we brave the cold rainy weather there for? Of course, churros and chocolate. I had such good memories of them last time I was in Spain, which was about 7 years ago, that I couldn’t pass through Madrid without going to get some, which we did. They were even better then I remembered and now I dream about eating churros dipped in hot chocolate, which is the consistancy of pudding.
