Sally said (in response to my telling her that a dish might be too hot for her), “You’re right, Mom.”
Susan said (after I gave her a ponytail “just like Sally’s”), “I’m beautiful.”
If I could just hear them saying those two things for the next 15 years, I think we’d have it made.

You’d be the luckiest mom ever. Of course – that precludes the option of you ever being wrong – but i guess we don’t have to worry about that – You are right, Mom! And Callie is beautiful. You might even wish later on that she wasn’t so beautiful – those boys will be all over her. Don’t forget to hope for Lucy to remain as happy and content as she is now too.
I felt that way yesterday when Max said, “Mommy will you sit down with me?” I know that’s not a big deal to most parents of almost 4 year olds, but he rarely speaks so concisely.
And a similar one to yours, Jessamine looked in the mirror with me yesterday and said “Missy is pretty! Mommy pretty too!” Awwwwww!
At our house it’s always a fight whether we are pretty or not. If the girls are mad at each other, or me, they’ll say, “You’re not pretty!” But when everything is going their way they’re always saying, “You’re pretty, Mom.” “Zachy’s not pretty. He’s handsome, and Daddy’s handsome.”
We’ve had people tell Alison she’s beautiful and Olivia will say, “What about me?” Oh boy.
So, I guess it’s good that Callie thinks she is “boofull” when she looks just like Avery, because obviously then she must think her sister is beautiful too.
I let Avery and Callie take some showers with me while Tom was gone (and I was too lazy to get my showers before we were all active in the day). She has now started talking about her “boo-boos” and she doesn’t mean her owwies. it’s pretty funny.
my kids don’t tell me i’m pretty too often (ever?). maybe they need more regular beatings?
