And I was so mad at him for it! I was big pregnant with Olivia, so I went with him to see the judge, so I could plead with him to bring the price down, round belly as sympathy factor. Instead, the judge was so mean I just bawled through his whole speech as to why Adam didn't deserve to hold the Priesthood if he did things like park where he wasn't supposed to. He lowered the fee to $20 and then turned to me and casually asked, "When's the baby due?" Probably we all do -- IE some ingrained tension or negative arousal when running afoul of them. That is what happens to me, and that (ie my attitude) may be partially where you got it. Or I'm guilty of heavy handed-parenting (which is true, but may also be causal). There is the idea that for a society to work, there has to be 95% voluntary compliance w the law.
