Happy 31st Anniversary, Mom and Dad. The longer I am married myself, the more I appreciate what you have made of your own marriage–how you’ve weathered the good and the bad. I married a man with the same name and different temperament as my dad; most of my good habits come from my mom (and a few bad ones, like the chocolate chips in my utensil drawer). But as for marriage as a living, organic thing, I hope mine is as durable and growing as yours.
Here’s another slideshow to make you cry, Mom (although I’m having problems with the music component). Can we count this stuff as my genealogy work? Perhaps I should apologize for having all of these pictures, but I’m giving them back to you here, the older ones a little “quick-fixed” in photoshop elements (and, oops, sorry, some that went under the blade of a teenage scrapbooker). The only limitation in rockyou.com is the small selection of music, but I kind of like this song (if you don’t, the mute button’s in the bottom left of the slideshow).

Shannon, this is awesome. Did your parents like it? Where did you find the music?
dude, they are so fired. i don’t know if they haven’t checked their email (they are subscribed) or what.
and, dude, you are fired too. i assume you are just amazingly occupied up there?
Shannon, I loved it! Makes me think of all those tear-jerking father-daughter songs like Sunrise Sunset from Fiddler on the Roof. I love you, and am honored to be able to say, “That’s my daughter!” and thus point out how smart and insightful you are, and how beautiful and smart your kids are, and how blessed you are to have such a good man as a husband.
Love, Dad
Wow, it made me cry! It’s so beautiful. I found my wedding video maker for my wedding whenever it shall be. I love you Shannon!
