Lucy’s not slow, she’s…content

04.06.07 | Spot | Comment

Spot will be six months in one week, and she didn’t even blink when I warned her today that I wanted to see her crawling by this evening. After being extremely strict on the 6 month mark with Sally and Susan, I’ve been stuffing her with those Gerber (except I buy the generic since they appear to be equally full of hopefully-innocuous chemicals) puffs and Cheerios (except I buy the generic there too).

She doesn’t bother to reach for the puffs or to grab them even when they’re placed on her palm. Instead, she waits until they’re on her tongue and then she condescends to suck ‘em on down. She’s rolled over maybe 4 times in her life. She will watch and nap and watch again for hours in the Baby Bjorn (my back is killing me). The antics of big sister and bigger sister are apparently endlessly riveting.

Spot did have two teeth break out within an hour last Thursday the 29th of March. (picture to follow–luckily we bought that camera, eh?). Her production of drool, which, as with her two sisters is the sole symptom of teething, has not abated. See, she is capable of sustained effort in certain vital matters.

And, no, she can’t sit up by herself, either. Thanks for rubbing it in.

Those are teeth, I promise. See, even her teeth, they come in a little, and then they just sit there. They don’t bother to come out the rest of the way.

totally unrelated, but fun to read
